More than 250,000 new jobs in the home-care field are expected to open up in 2011, according to a leading online source for babysitters.
The U.S. Department of Labor reports the caregiver field is the 7th out of 20 of the fastest growing career fields.

Sittercity, the largest and most trusted online source for caregivers, is expecting an 80 per cent increase in jobs such as babysitters, nannies, eldercare providers, pet sitters, housekeepers, and tutors. This includes full time and part time jobs, although full time jobs are growing exponentially faster than part time. Nanny and babysitter jobs top the list of most popular home-care jobs.

Almost every two minutes a new job is posted on Sittercity.com, as compared to last year’s every four minutes, and is considered by users to be the most popular way to search out jobs in this field.

With more than a million caregiver profiles across the nation, Sittercity.com helps families and individuals find the perfect caregiver for their lifestyle and situation. The company offers a four-step screening process, which includes reference checking, reading caregiver reviews, interviewing, and background checks. Profiles also include photos, experience, safety skills, reviews and more.
