June 13 – Art History Lecture Series: Proximities 1

LM Logo-Final

Dear Friends,

Please join us on Thursday, June 13, for an art history lecture on The Asian Art Museum’s Collective Show:  Proximities 1 from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.
Programming Coordinator Alicia Gonzales will present an art history lecture on The Asian Art Museum’s collective show:  Proximities 1 which presents themes related to landscape, imagined and real.  Asian influences are pervasive in U.S. culture, perhaps nowhere more so than in the Bay Area. But we each encounter Asia differently – some have the intimacy of lineage, while others might have little awareness.  In Proximities, a three-part exhibition, a multiplicity of perspectives comes together, which works that stimulate dialogue around individual ideas about Asia.  This exhibition was curated by Glen Helfand, an independent writer, critic, curator and educator.
Please RSVP (510) 903-3600 to reserve your seat.
