Save on Prescription Drugs

Because of the country’s present economic and financial climate, and the rising prices of basic commodities, finding ways to save on prescription drugs may not only be practical but could be life saving for those who are less able to afford them.
Here are some tips to beat this high cost:
1. Tell your doctor you can’t afford the drugs he’s prescribing.
2. Ask your doctor whether there’s a generic that would work just as well.
3. Ask the pharmacist for less-expensive alternatives.
4. Use mail order.
5. Find a prescription assistance program.
6. Be suspicious of free samples.
7. Don’t push for what you see on TV.
8. Split drugs with caution.
9. If you don’t have insurance, shop around.
10. Ask for a review.
